7 Star Browser

7 Star Browser is a free Chromium-based browser from Seven Star Studio (Beijing Kuaisou Technology Co Ltd). The main feature of this web browser is its support for dual processors, claiming to utilise the Blink (Chrome) and Trident (Internet Explorer) browser engines. This allows the user to switch between kernels on-the-fly which can be helpful for optimising CPU and browsing speed.

360 Browser

360 Browser is a web browser developed by the Qihoo company of Beijing, China.  It offers page layout using either the Trident engine, as used in Internet Explorer, or the WebKit engine that was adapted for Google Chrome.  It was first released in September 2008. 360 Browser is based on the Chromium source code.

360 Security Browser

360 Secure/Security Browser (360安全浏览器) is a web browser developed by the Qihoo company of Beijing, China. It offers page layout using either the Trident engine, as used in Internet Explorer, or the WebKit engine that was adapted for Google Chrome. It was first released in September 2008.

360 Speed (Extreme) Browser

This is another browser by the Qihoo 360 Software Company. 360 Speed (or Extreme Explorer) Browser is a fast, secure, seamless dual-core Internet browser. Claiming to be the world's first seamless Chrome and Internet Explorer browser, with an innovative UI design, HTML5 and CSS3 support standardisation.

Android Browser

The Android Browser is a web browser developed by Google specifically for devices running the Android operating system. As one of the default browsers pre-installed on most Android devices, it serves as a primary gateway for users to access the internet, browse websites, and interact with online content. AOL Desktop Browser

AOL Desktop was an Internet suite produced by AOL which contained an integrated web browser. Prior to version 9.8, the browser was based on the Trident layout engine as used by Internet Explorer. From v9.8 onward, Trident was replaced with CEF (Chromium Embedded Framework) to provide users with a more modern browsing experience. Despite AOL Desktop being discontinued in 2018, it is still encountered during investigations.

Avast Secure Browser

Avast Secure Browser (previously Avast SafeZone) is a Chromium based web browser developed by Avast. Initially, Avast Secure Browser was available alongside Avast's paid versions of Avast Antivirus. However, as of March 2016, Avast started to include the browser with the free version of its anti virus software. 

AVG Secure Browser

AVG Secure Browser is a Chromium based web browser with a built-in security and privacy centre. It contains a pre-installed set of emulation tools for testing phones, tablets, laptop and desktop devices. Brave

Brave is a free and open-source privacy focused web browser for desktop and mobile based on the Chromium web browser and Blink engine.  It is developed by Brave Software https://brave.com/ which was founded by Brendan Eich https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendan_Eich and Brian Bondy.  Brendan Eich was the co-founder of the Mozilla project and creator of the JavaScript programming language and Brian Bondy previously worked full time on Mozilla's Firefox browser.

Comodo Chromodo is a Chromium based web browser developed by Comodo Group, Inc.  It has the look and feel of Google Chrome but features several security and functionality improvements including better security and privacy and built in website scanner.

Comodo Dragon

Comodo Dragon is a Chromium based web browser developed by Comodo Group, Inc.  Sporting a similar interface to Google Chrome, Dragon does not implement Chrome's user tracking and some other potentially privacy-compromising features, and provides additional security measures, such as indicating the authenticity and relative strength of a website's SSL certificate.

Comodo IceDragon

Comodo IceDragon is a Mozilla Firefox based web browser developed by Comodo Group, Inc.  It is intended to be faster and more secure than Firefox.

CoolNovo

CoolNovo was a freeware Chromium based web browser developed by Maple Studio based in China.  The browser was originally called ChromePlus.  It offers page layout using either the Trident engine, as used in Internet Explorer, or the WebKit engine that was adapted for Google Chrome.

Cyberfox

Cyberfox is a Mozilla based browser designed by 8pecxstudios™ https://8pecxstudios.com. They claim they take over where Mozilla left off by working to make a fast, stable and reliable 64bit web browser that is accessible to all. It is available for Windows in two processor-specific builds, one optimised for Intel based CPUs, and one optimised for AMD based CPUs. It is also available in x86 versions. Cyberfox is also available for 64bit Linux.

Dissenter Browser

Dissenter was launched in February 2019, and is an open source web browser built for The People, not advertisers. The Dissenter browser allows the user to block ads and trackers by default, ensuring that the web browsing experience is much faster than traditional web browsers.

Dolphin Browser

Dolphin Browser is a Chromium-based web browser for Android and iOS developed by MoboTap. It was one of the first alternative browsers for the Android platform that introduced support for multi-touch gestures. Gesture browsing allows users to draw characters to call websites; for example, T for Twitter and F for Facebook, users can also create their own custom gestures as needed.

Epic Privacy Browser

Epic Privacy Browser was released on August 29, 2013 and is developed by Hidden Reflex using the Chromium source code, developed for the security conscious. Epic Privacy Browser is (by default) always in "private browsing mode", taking a proactive approach to ensuring that session data (such as cookies, history, and cache etc) are removed upon exit. The browser also removes Google tracking and blocks other organisations from tracking users.

Flock

Flock is a web browser that specialised in providing social networking and Web 2.0 facilities built into its user interface.  Earlier versions of Flock used the Gecko rendering engine by Mozilla.  Flock version 2.6.2 was the last version based on Mozilla Firefox.  Starting with version 3, Flock was based on Chromium and used the WebKit rendering engine.  Support for Flock browsers was discontinued in April 2011.

IceCat

GNU IceCat, formerly known as GNU IceWeasel, is a free web browser distributed by the GNU Project. It is based on the Mozilla platform and is available for installation on GNU/Linux, Windows, macOS and Android.

K-Meleon

K-Meleon is an open-source web browser designed specifically for Microsoft Windows operating systems.  Its design goal is to provide a fast and reliable web browser while providing a highly customizable interface and using system resources efficiently. K-Meleon is based on the same Gecko layout engine as Mozilla Firefox. 

Maxthon

Maxthon is a freeware web browser developed by the company Maxthon Ltd., based in Beijing, China. It is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and as Maxthon Mobile for Android and iOS. On July 7, 2012, Maxthon released Maxthon for Mac, with Maxthon for iPhone and iPad released in August 2012. On December 10, 2012, Maxthon Cloud Browser, also named Maxthon 4, was released.

Mi Browser

Mi Browser is a fast and secure full-featured web browser designed by Xiaomi for Android phones. Mi Browser features many security functions to ensure safe browsing; including, the option for incognito mode for users to switch on/off the aggregated data collection.

Microsoft Edge

In December 2018, Microsoft announced their intention to adopt the Chromium open source project in the development of Microsoft Edge of the desktop. The new Microsoft Edge is based on Chromium and was official released on 15 January 2020. It is compatible with all supported versions of Windows, and macOS.

Min Browser

Min is an open source web browser written using CSS and JavaScript using Electron. It focuses on providing a minimal web browser with a clean UI and standard features.

Mint Browser

Mint Browser is designed by Xiaomi for Android devices. It claims to block ads automatically in order to make web pages neater and cleaner; this also allows the user to save their mobile data. Additionally, whenever Mint Browser detects a downloadable video, the "Download" button will appear, allowing the user to save the video to their device.

Naver Whale

Naver Whale is a Chromium-based web browser developed by South Korean technology company Naver Corporation. It is available on Windows, Linux, Android and iOS platforms and in English and Korean languages. 

Netscape

Netscape Communications was a computer services company best known for its Web browser, Navigator. In 1993, a team led by Marc Andreesen created Mosaic at the University of Illinois' National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). Mosaic was the first Web browser that had a graphical user interface (GUI). The browser was subsequently renamed "Navigator".

Opera GX Gaming Browser is a specially designed version of the Opera browser built specifically to complement gaming. It includes unique features to help one get the most out of both gaming and browsing.

Opera Mini

Opera Mini is a mobile web browser developed by Opera Software AS. It was primarily designed for the Java ME platform, as a low-end sibling for Opera Mobile. It was previously developed for iOS, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Phone 8.1, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Bada. However, it is now developed exclusively for Android.

Opera Neon

Opera Neon https://www.opera.com/computer/neon is a new concept browser: "a vision of what browsers could become". It was first released in January 2017 and is available for Mac and Windows.  The browser is Chromium based but with some additional unique features.

Opera Touch

Opera Touch is a Chromium-based browser designed to be used on the go. It has been designed so that the user can explore the web using just one hand. The Fast Action Button is always available on the user's browser screen and allows the user direct access to its Instant Search feature. The user can also swipe the button up to gain access to all recent tabs and browser navigation.

Pale Moon

Pale Moon is an open-source web browser developed by Moonchild Productions.  Pale Moon is a fork of Mozilla Firefox, retaining the fully customizable user interface as seen in versions 4 to 28 of the Firefox browser and focusing on efficiency and ease of use.

QQ Browser

QQ Browser (QQ浏览器) is a chromium-based web browser for Android, Windows, Mac, and iOS platforms. It is developed by Chinese Internet giant Tencent. The application offers a number of features beyond those offered by built-in browsers, such as tabbed windows and integration with other chat platforms. QQ browser version 9.0 was the first released version which used the chromium source code (Chromium v43). Prior to this QQ Browser was based on the Trident engine.

SalamWeb

SalamWeb is a Chromium-based browser, available for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS, developed by the Dubai company Salam Web Technologies DMCC. The browser is designed to deliver a Muslim-friendly Web experience and ecosystem; SalamWeb uses SalamWebProtect which filters out ‘haram’ - content, products and services which are offensive to Muslims and considered by them to be harmful to children.

Samsung Internet

Samsung Internet for Android is a Chromium-based mobile web browser for smartphones and tablets developed by Samsung Electronics. It comes pre-installed on Samsung Galaxy devices; replacing the stock Android browser as the default on Samsung Galaxy devices in 2012. Since 2015, it has been available for download from Google Play, and also on Samsung's Tizen-based smartwatch via the Samsung Galaxy Store.

SeaMonkey

SeaMonkey is an open-source web browser and Internet suite.  It is the continuation of the former Mozilla Application Suite, based on the same source code, which itself was based on Netscape Communicator.  The development of SeaMonkey is community-driven.  The SeaMonkey web browser (Navigator) has a far more traditional looking interface than the Mozilla Firefox browser and is aimed more at advanced users, web developers and corporate users.

Sleipnir

Sleipnir is a freeware web browser developed by Fenrir Inc of Osaka, Japan.  The browser's main features are customization and tab functions.  The Windows version supports different layout engines.  Sleipnir version 5 introduced a proprietary text rendering visually resembling Mac OS text rendering.

SRWare Iron

SRWare Iron is a freeware Chromium based web browser developed by SRWare of Germany.  Its main focus is around privacy and it aims to eliminate usage tracking and other privacy-compromising functionality that the Google Chrome browser includes.

Titan Browser

Titan Browser is a freeware Chromium based web browser and Internet suite developed by Titan Browser Corp.  It is a simple browser focused on security and privacy; protecting the user from installing unwanted add-ons, toolbars, or applications.  The default search engine uses the Titan search engine to provide secure and anonymous search results powered by search providers such as Bing and Yahoo. Titan Browser is commercial freeware, and is based on the Chromium source code.

Torch

Torch is a Chromium based web browser and Internet suite developed by Torch Media Inc.  The browser handles common Internet related tasks such as displaying websites, sharing websites via social networks, downloading torrents, accelerating downloads and grabbing online media, all directly from the browser. Torch is commercial freeware and is based on the Chromium source code.

UC Browser

UC Browser is a mobile browser developed by Chinese mobile Internet company UCWeb http://www.ucweb.com/. Originally launched in April 2004 as a J2ME-only https://java.com/en/download/faq/whatis_j2me.xml application, it is available on platforms including Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Symbian, Java ME, and BlackBerry.

Vivaldi

Vivaldi is a freeware Chromium based web browser developed by Vivaldi Technologies, a company founded by former Opera Software cofounder and CEO Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner.  The browser is aimed at power users and previous Opera web browser users disgruntled by Opera's transition from the Presto layout engine to the Blink layout engine, which removed many popular features in the process.  Vivaldi aims to revive the old, popular features of Opera 12 and introduce new, more innovative ones.

Waterfox

Waterfox is an open-source web browser based on Mozilla which is available for 64bit Windows, macOS and Linux systems. It has been designed to take advantage of 64bit system architecture and claims to provide speed improvements over Firefox.

Wyzo

Wyzo is a web browser based on Mozilla Firefox by Radical Software Ltd.  The browser handles common Internet related tasks such as displaying websites as well as providing functionality to accelerate downloads and to download torrents.

Yandex

Yandex Browser is a Chromium based web browser developed by the Russian web search corporation Yandex.  The browser checks webpage security with the Yandex security system and checks downloaded files with Kaspersky anti-virus.  The browser also uses Opera Software's Turbo technology to speed web browsing on slow connections.  The browser's SmartBox uses Yandex Search as its default search engine.
