NetAnalysis was designed as a forensic application to be utilised within a lab environment. It was not designed to run from a removable USB device or be used against live, non-write protected evidence. NetAnalysis uses a number of DLL files (some of which are shared with other applications) which need to be registered on the system it is running on. Registering a DLL on a system involves making changes to the registry. This process is carried out by the installation software during setup. In addition, NetAnalysis reads and writes data to an XML configuration file and also requires read/write access to a database.
